In this section, I’ll go over 3 examples of stores that have been able to make high profits with their products. These are stores that I have come across that have large markups on their prices compared to their cost price.
1. Burga
Burga sells cases and accessories for phones and laptops. This store has done a great job in finding the most profitable dropshipping products by charging high prices for a product that is extremely cheap to buy wholesale.
They are charging $35.95 for a phone case and they’re receiving around a million monthly visitors so I’m sure they’re very profitable. I’m not sure if they’re doing print-on-demand or ordering from China and fulfilling their orders from multiple worldwide warehouses, either way, they have high profit margins.
According to Alibaba, you can purchase phone cases in large quantities for around $1.50 each. They have a special deal when you buy 2 cases you get 2 free which I’m guessing most people would take that offer as it means you receive free shipping and you get a bonus 2 phone cases.
This is a smart move by Burga as it’s a compelling offer to the customer and an even more profitable deal for them. Offering special deals such as this is a great way to bump up that AOV (Average order value) and maximize profits.
2. Warmly
If you want to see a store that knows how to find the most profitable dropshipping products, check out this store. Warmly has created a store with a luxury feel and they charge luxury prices. They appear to be dropshipping from China as they’re transparent about their shipping times and location on their website. The same products on their website can also be found on Alibaba.
An example of their prices is this wall lamp they charge $189.95 and on Alibaba, the same lamp is listed for $5 if you order a large enough quantity.
Don’t forget this store will have other expenses including advertising, custom packaging, and shipping and they are most likely working with an agent in China to take care of most of their tasks. Even with these costs, their margins will be extremely high.
People are willing to pay these prices because they brand their stores in such a way that the perceived value of their products is much higher.
Their shipping times are 3 to 5 weeks which most people would assume would scare most customers off. Obviously, this is not ideal, however, because these products appear to be the more high-end exclusive products, people are willing to wait longer. Specialized products are worth the wait.
3. Blendjet
Blendjet is one of the more well-known e-commerce stores online. Whilst they have now transitioned from dropshipping into wholesale, they are worth taking note of. Most profitable dropshipping stores follow a similar strategy which is why Blendjet is worth taking note of.
Blendjet has become one of the most successful and profitable one-product stores online. In fact, their portable blender can now be found in many brick-and-mortar stores. This really shows the power of branding and the potential of dropshipping.
When purchased in bulk, portable blenders can be purchased for between USD $2 and USD $3 each on Alibaba. Blendjet often charges USD $60 and above for their model of blender which leaves a very lucrative profit margin.
Blendjet has without a doubt become one of the most profitable dropshipping stores and should provide the inspiration you need to start your own dropshipping business.
4. Indestructible Shoes
I don’t normally recommend dropshipping apparel as you can deal with a lot of returns and refunds but I think that may be worth it for this store. They are selling tough shoes that can handle punishment.
They sell most of their shoes for $89 and the same shoes are available on Alibaba for around $7 depending on the quantity you purchase.
$89 for a pair of shoes is a reasonable price which makes me think their conversion rate is high. Their website looks professional and they have a video ad on their home page which does a lot of the selling for them.
