Dropshipping or Wholesale Company?
All the companies listed below offer dropshipping as part of their business. Whilst some are exclusively built for dropshipping, others are UK-based retail stores that offer wholesale or dropshipping options.
Although you may be only interested in dropshipping, knowing if they offer purchasing larger quantities at wholesale prices may be beneficial for you in the future. We all know profit margins with dropshipping are lower due to the fact that you are asking a company to individually pick, pack and ship your products to your customers. This will obviously come at a cost.
If you’re making consistent sales with a specific product, purchasing the product in bulk from a supplier at wholesale prices will increase your profit margins considerably. You then have several options.
You can negotiate with your supplier to continue shipping your bulk order for you, you can have the order shipped to your home and you can ship the products yourself or you can send the order to a fulfillment center (3PL) that can ship the products individually for you.

Advantages of Dropshipping from UK-Based Companies
The most prevalent form of dropshipping is from China, usually from AliExpress. Many beginners opt for this route of dropshipping and it can be very lucrative, however, there any some advantages of dropshipping using UK wholesale and dropshipping companies.
- It will be easier to source higher quality products from UK suppliers than you can from China.
- Shipping domestically will be faster, more reliable and more affordable.
- You can build a real relationship with your UK supplier who you can ring to sort out any issues. This is more difficult when dealing with suppliers based in China.
- You can avoid paying any import duties when shipping from China to the UK.
- Dealing with returns and refunds is much simpler.
- Dropshipping large or heavy products is feasible when dropshipping with UK companies. It is virtually impossible to dropship oversized goods from China.
- If you can work with a gold-tier UK supplier, you will likely have less competition.
- You often provide a superior customer experience compared with AliExpress. This has many benefits including more repeat customers, a reduction in chargebacks with your payment processors and provides improved feedback scores with advertising platforms.
- It’s far simpler and more streamlined to work with UK companies as opposed to Chinese suppliers.
